01

What the systematic review found

The review included 177 studies and 6,322 participants. It found no causal link between taVNS and serious adverse events in the included literature. Ear pain, headache, and tingling were among the most commonly reported adverse events.

The authors also found that adverse-event reporting was frequently incomplete. That limitation matters when comparing studies or estimating how often events occur.

02

Protocol details shape interpretation

Safety findings apply to the populations, devices, sites, intensities, schedules, and monitoring procedures studied. Exclusion criteria and reporting methods can also change the observed event profile.

A complete report states how events were collected, their severity, duration, timing, management, relatedness assessment, withdrawals, and serious events.

03

Product-specific status

General taVNS safety literature does not establish safety for NeuroThaw A or B. NeuroThaw has not released product-specific safety testing, contraindications, warnings, market authorization, or clinical study results.

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

What adverse events are commonly reported in taVNS research?

Ear pain, headache, and tingling were among the most frequently reported events in a large systematic review.

Does published taVNS research establish NeuroThaw safety?

No. Product-specific safety evidence must test the relevant configuration and intended use.

Why is adverse-event reporting quality important?

Incomplete collection or reporting can obscure event frequency, severity, timing, and possible relationship to stimulation.
